Got questions?
We've got answers.
Here are the things couples ask us most. Don't see yours? Reach out — we love a good conversation.
How many guests can River House accommodate?
River House can host up to 250 guests for ceremonies on the Lawn, and up to 200 guests in the Barn for receptions. The Grove ceremony site seats up to 120 guests with additional standing room — it's a favorite for more intimate celebrations or as a portrait spot for larger events. If your guest count is over 175, shuttle service from a designated offsite parking area is required, and we'll help you coordinate that seamlessly.
What's included in the venue rental price?
Quite a lot, actually. Your rental includes full property access from 7am–10pm on your wedding day, access the day before for drop-off and rehearsal, and return access the morning after for pickup. You'll also get both getting-ready spaces (the private cottage and the Saloon), parking with an attendant, all ceremony and reception spaces, restrooms for up to 150 guests, and — the big one — Wedding Connection's full planning and day-of coordination package, valued at $5,000+. It's all in.
Do you have an in-house caterer, or can we bring our own?
River House offers in-house catering through Love Creek Catering, with thoughtfully crafted menus starting at $90 per person. Love Creek knows this property inside and out, which means seamless service and food that's actually good.
For couples who want to incorporate culturally meaningful dishes or family food traditions, River House welcomes outside food on a case-by-case basis. We believe your wedding menu should reflect who you are — and sometimes that means grandma's recipe makes the table. Please reach out to discuss your vision and we'll work with you to make it happen.
For alcohol, River House is BYOB — beer, wine, and champagne for the full event, plus up to two signature cocktails with hard liquor during cocktail hour only. Your Wedding Connection coordinator will help you plan and manage all of it.
What does Wedding Connection actually do for us?
Everything you don't want to think about. From the moment you sign your contract, the Wedding Connection team is in your corner — handling vendor referrals, budget guidance, rental logistics, and timeline creation. They'll run your rehearsal, manage your vendors on the day, set up your personal décor, troubleshoot anything unexpected, and make sure the whole day flows without you having to lift a finger. On wedding day, your lead planner is on-site for 10+ hours. This is a $5,000+ service included in your venue price.
Are tables, chairs, and linens included?
Tables and chairs are not included in the venue rental — but don't stress. Your Wedding Connection coordinator will walk you through the rental process, connect you with trusted vendors, and even accompany you to a showroom consultation. Linens, tableware, and place settings are also separate, and they'll help you plan and budget for those too. Think of it as a blank canvas with a very experienced artist standing next to you.
Can we choose our own vendors?
For most vendors — yes! River House gives you access to a curated preferred vendor list of photographers, florists, hair and makeup artists, and more, all vetted for quality and familiarity with the property. For DJs, River House requires use of an approved DJ from their list. (Trust us — they know the space, the acoustics, and how to read a crowd.) You can also bring in a band! Your Wedding Connection coordinator can make tailored recommendations based on your budget, style, and personality.
What time does the event need to wrap up?
The party runs from 3pm to 9pm — a six-hour celebration window. Property access starts at 7am for setup and getting ready, and the venue closes at 10pm to allow time for vendor breakdown and cleanup. It's a full, well-paced day. Your Wedding Connection team will build a detailed timeline to make sure every moment — cocktail hour, dinner, first dances, cake, last song — fits beautifully within that window.
What happens if it rains?
The Barn has you covered — literally. With its large sliding doors and indoor capacity for up to 200 guests, it serves as a beautiful wet-weather backup for ceremonies and receptions alike. River House's indoor-outdoor flow means rain rarely derails the day — it just shifts it slightly. We can also accommodate a tent.
